The midwest has had a peculiar history of breeding a considerable concentration of geeks and artists, plus the underground cultural phenomenons that belong to those groups of people.
...um, what does this have to do with me? Well, I love the midwest because I have the advantage of absorbing all the amazing things that are produced in the area. Sci-fi/Fantasy Conventions, Art Galleries, Renaissance Festivals, the Minnesota music and theatre scene, you name it! I'm a geek and proud of it.
You can have the rest of the world...I am QUITE happy with the obscure and fun genre-plagued state of Minnesota! I love my little conservative hometown of Maple Lake. I have a marvelous geeky husband and a wonderful quirky family. I thank God for all the blessings He has given me.
